Wykeham Cricket Club has a strong and established women & girls section and continues to lead the drive for girls’ cricket in the Scarborough area.
• 3 women’s teams competing in YPNL Premier, Championship North and the Softball League
• Girls playing across all 3 of our junior sides
• Girls and women regularly representing our 5 senior mixed teams
• A clear pathway from All Stars & Dynamos through to senior and Premier League cricket
• Qualified coaches supporting development at every stage
We launched our girls’ section five years ago, with Leah Dobson (former Yorkshire Diamonds player, now with Durham) and Heather Marsey leading the programme in its first year, giving it strong foundations from the outset.
Last season we had multiple players competing in the YPNL Premier League, while others continued their development through Championship North and the Softball League which we have previously won ensuring there is a place for everyone to develop, compete and enjoy the game at the right level.
This month is a particularly proud moment for the club, as one of our former Premier League players has just made her full senior international debut for West Indies the first girl from Wykeham to represent her country at full international level. A fantastic example of the pathway working.
We are running ECB Dynamos this season and are finalising our All Stars programme..
