I’m really excited for the upcoming 2026 season. A new introduction for Woodhouse Grange as a club, with a real focus on Women’s & Girl’s cricket at the club. 

 

As a club we are determined to make access to cricket availible for everyone. Previously we have failed to succeed with W&G’s cricket and I am determined to make a change. 

 

For 2026 we have already committed to the new Roses Dynamos initiative launched by the ECB this year, these sessions are for girls only, aged between 8-11 year old. Along with this we are supporting the girls from the AllStars training (5-8year old) make that transition into age group cricket. We will start with an under 9’s side with the ambition to participate in softball tournaments in both York, Selby and East Riding Associations. 

 

We will also continue our “Prosecco” Women’s cricket with organised, purposeful training sessions fortnightly at the club, allowing an introduction to cricket for Lady’s and girls of all ages and abilities. 

 

With support, planning and an ambition to succeed Woodhouse Grange will make Women’s & Girl’s cricket a thriving section within the club.
