Formed in January 2020 with just eight players, this young and ambitious side has made impressive progress in a short space of time.
Since 2021, they have competed in the East Yorkshire Women’s indoor and outdoor leagues, steadily developing a squad that now numbers around 13 to 14 players, aged between 14 and 20. With one of the youngest squads in the league, they continue to show remarkable commitment, spirit and potential.
The 2025 season brought some outstanding achievements. The team were crowned East Yorkshire indoor league champions and went on to finish third overall in the county, a superb accomplishment. They also enjoyed an excellent run in the hardball T20 competition, reaching Finals Day and finishing runners-up, only losing out to a strong York side.
There were mixed results in the 30-over league, where they finished mid-table, but their efforts and determination never wavered. In many matches they were forced to field just nine players, making their performances all the more commendable.
Looking ahead to 2026, the captain’s focus is clear. Batting through the full 30 overs on a regular basis is seen as a major goal, giving the side the best possible platform either to post competitive totals or chase them down. Growing the squad is also high on the agenda, with a desire to bring through more juniors and encourage more women to get involved, helping to create even more role models for the younger players already in the team.
Above all, the aim is to build confidence.
There is no shortage of talent in the squad, and 2026 is about helping that talent shine, with the players taking real pride in their performances and continuing to grow together as a team.
When it comes to predictions for the season ahead, the captain is realistic about the strength of the competition. League position is not the main priority. Instead, the focus is on taking each game as it comes, performing well, and turning as many matches as possible into wins.
Like many clubs, they are also keen to welcome new players, with opportunities open to women and girls of all ages and experience levels.
This is a team built on enthusiasm, resilience and promise — and they look set to remain one of the most exciting young sides in the league.
