HIT IT! BOWL IT! LOVE IT! AT FAIRBURN CRICKET CLUB
Open for girls cricket

“Our women's and girl's team is new for 2026.
We are currently competing in the YPLN indoor league, and we were very pleased to have won all of our indoor matches so far. We have got some very talented players who have played for Yorkshire age groups, or have been involved in pathways schemes.
We plan to enter into a hard ball league in the summer for ages 13+. We have got 10 players currently committed to the hard ball team, so we are looking for a few more players to join the squad. If there are any players out there perhaps currently playing soft ball only, who'd like to give hard ball cricket a go, we'd be very happy to hear from them and get them involved.
We also are nurturing a good group of U11s girls to create a pipeline of players, they will be playing soft ball matches this summer and it will be great to see their development.
We are absolutely committed to getting women’s and girl’s cricket well established at the club and we are very grateful of Oak Electrical Limited, who have kindly offered to sponsor the women’s team shirts.
If anyone is keen to come along and see what we are about, they can reach out to us via our Play Cricket Site, Billy Weaver is our Women’s and Girl’s Co-Ordinator. Billy has prior experience coaching Yorkshire Women, and has coached players such as Katherine Sciver- Brunt, no less, during that role.”
