YPLN trials Hundred cup
Posted on 18th March 2025 at 10:23
YPLN are proposing to run a 100-ball cup for 2025, in addition to our existing cups.
The YPLN Hundred is open to teams in the ECB Premier Division 2 and Championship divisions and will be played to ECB 100-ball playing conditions.
The aim of the cup is to provide more coloured kit / pink ball cricket, the chance to try a new format, and the opportunity for Premier 2 and Championship teams to play each other, to those teams that want it.
When a Championship team plays a Premier Division 2 team the Championship team will start their innings with approx 15 runs already on the board (exact figure to be finalised).
Coloured kit and pink balls will be used, though if a team doesn't have coloured kit then white kit is acceptable.
The first round games won't be scheduled until early July, so won't clash with the majority of our other cup matches. They'll be scheduled on Sundays but can be rearranged for a weekday evening if both teams wish to.
There will be a first round (if entries require it), a quarter-final round, and then teams will proceed to a Finals Day on Sunday August 24th, comprising two semi-finals and a final, with BBQ, bar and all the usual cup final stuff.
Entries are now open and should be emailed (along with any questions) to assistant@yplncricket.co.uk
