It is with much sadness that we publish the news that former York and Heworth player Guy Raines has passed away.
York President Clive Robinson said ''I played with Guy at Wigginton Road. A lovely man and a fine cricketer. Until the last year he was a regular watcher at Clifton Park''.
Former Rowntrees CC player Steve Aldous added ''Guy was teetotal and a man of few words but his cover fielding, cover drives and cricketing knowledge could never be questioned''.
We pass on our condolences to Guy's family and friends.
