HUNTERS ECB Yorkshire Premier League North

Everyone at Patrington Cricket Club wishes to pass on their condolences to the family of Geoff McKinley.

Geoff was a true legend of the club. Having starting playing for Patrington in the 1950’s his playing career spanned 40 seasons. He remains the club’s leading all-time wicket taker with 1957 wickets and added over 5000 runs. In addition to this. He was proud to announce that he never bowled a wide!

Since retiring from playing he was a regular at Southside and enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren follow in his footsteps. His affinity with the club also saw him take up the role of groundsman and lately put his joinery skills to good work in the role of club handyman. In recent years Geoff was given the title of honorary life member of the club, a title that he shared with just two others; his good friends and former teammates Dickie Barr & Derek Spruce.

Geoff will be sadly missed by everyone at the club and “The Lords of North” will not be same place without him on summer Saturday afternoon.
