The K3 Cup (YPLN vs YCPSL Premier Divisions) saw Woodhouse Grange travel to play Doncaster Town in the semi-final. Woodhouse put on an impressive 220/7 in their 40 overs, thanks to a century from Chris Bilton and 51 from Harry Gamble. However, despite a 3-fer from Grange's Chris Suddaby, Doncaster Town reached the target in just under 36 overs, with half centuries from Jaden Fell and Bhargavkumar Merai, a 44 from Charlie Kaye, and several other contributions. Congratulations to Woodhouse Grange on reaching the semi-final. York play Wakefield Thornes in the other semi-final on August 17th.

The YPLN U19 T20 Blast held it's final on Sunday 10th at Bilton in Ainsty CC, a beautiful ground. The club did an excellent job of hosting. Beverley played Clifton Alliance in a repeat of the 2024 final . Both teams delivered an excellent standard of cricket, with the result in doubt until the final over. Clifton chose to bat first and put 157 on the board thanks to contributions from Josh Tynan (36 runs), George Breheney (38) and Will Cross (42) among others. In response, Beverley initially struggled under a strong Clifton bowling attack, but Oscar Elliot (32) pulled them back into the match and the late-innings partnership of Reuben Scott (29) and Isaac Peak (16) brought them within 11 runs of victory. Clifton Alliance's Finlay Hodgson was awarded Player-of-the-Match for his tireless work behind the stumps and two sharp match-changing catches. Congratulations to both teams on reaching the final.

Elsewhere, both semi-finals of the Division 1 T20 Readman Trophy were held. Arthington travelled to Middleton & North Dalton and emerged the victors thanks in part to 66 runs from Umar Farooq. Scalby were the visitors at New Earswick and also came away with the win, with 124 runs from opener Joseph Davies proving the decisive blow. Arthington and Scalby will face off in the final at New Earswick CC on 31st August at 2pm. Both teams are in their first year in YPLN, are eyeing up promotion to the Championship next year, and this promises to be a cracking match, so come along if possible. The hosts are generously providing a BBQ, music and even a bouncy castle for the kids, so there will be something for everyone.
