ATTIS ECB Yorkshire Premier League North
Matt Harris, YPLN Cup Manager

2025 was YPLN's biggest ever year from the point of cup competitions. The cups shown below had 179 entrants.

Congratulations to all those who played a game in the cups this year, and especially to the winners shown in the table.

We've sent requests for feedback to all 2025 cup participants. Thanks to those clubs that responded. After reflecting on this, 2026 will bring the following developments, among others:

The Championship Cup and YPLN Hundred will be coloured kit and pink ball by default (though teams that do not have coloured kit can wear whites)
The Championship Cup will have a "Finals Day", with two semi-finals and a final on the same day (the T20 Blast, T20 Plate and Hundred already do this)
For the Division 1-5 cups, where possible, and where it won't impact travel times too much, the early rounds of cups will see teams face opponents that are not in their Saturday division, to keep things as "fresh" as possible
Captains will be provided with a contact list of other team captains in their cup competition, to make communication easier and to avoid having to use the Play Cricket email functions.
The process for agreeing dates and times for cup matches will be tightened further (in particular, to avoid the situation where teams leave it too late to notify an opponent that they can't play on the scheduled match date)
Some of the cup playing conditions will be simplified and, as much as is possible, all cups will play to the same conditions
The U19 cup won't run, as entrant numbers have dwindled over the years and match scheduling is always a problem for this age group. Junior cricket cups are best managed by the many excellent local junior leagues in our region

We look forward to seeing you for the 2026 cup competitions. Entries will open later in 2025 and we'll be in touch with all clubs then.
