JUNIOR PLAYER REGISTRATION
Registering new junior players with your club on Play Cricket - A guide for club administrators
Note: If a junior player already has a proper (not “TMP”) registration with another club, see the bottom of this guide.
Players aged 16 or over
The player should create a Play Cricket account for themselves CLICK HERE TO CREATE ACCOUNT during which they will be able to select your club as the one they are a player for. They must use an email address which is not already registered in the Play Cricket system (i.e. they can’t use a parent’s email address if that email address is already registered with Play Cricket on another account).
Players aged 13,14 or 15
If the player wishes to have their own account (not managed by a parent)
The player should create a Play Cricket account for themselves CLICK HERE TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT during which they will be able to select your club as the one they are a player for. They must use an email address which is not already registered in the Play Cricket system (i.e. they can’t use a parent’s email address if that email address is already registered with Play Cricket on another account). They must include details of a parent/guardian in their profile.
If the player wishes their parent/guardian to manage their account, and the parent already has a Play Cricket account
The parent should add the child to their PC account using these guidelines CLICK HERE FOR GUIDELINES during which they can choose your club to register the child with.
If the player wishes their parent/guardian to manage their account, and the parent does not have a Play Cricket account
The parent should create a PC account for themselves, and then create an account for their child, using these guidelines CLICK HERE FOR GUIDELINES during which they can choose your club to register the child with.
Players under 13
Play Cricket does not allow players under age 13 to have their own Play Cricket record. The only way such players can be registered is as a “TMP<13” account linked to a parent account. This should be done as follows: CLICK HERE
How to merge a proper registration, as created using the guidelines above, with an existing temporary (“TMP”) registration
Go to Admin>Day to Day>Members>Member Database
Search for the player’s surname (or search for certain player types and ages using the Advanced filters)
Click the “Match Duplicate” icon next to the player’s entry which is not the TMP one On the next page, select “Propose Match” on the player’s TMP entry
Check the suggested merger details, and accept when happy.
In some circumstances the system can refuse to merge two player accounts. This is usually because the names don’t quite match (e.g. “Matt Smith” on one account and “Matthew Smith” on the other) or the dates of birth don’t match. The fastest way to resolve merger issues is usually just to raise a support ticket with Play Cricket to ask them to merge the accounts for you (giving them the two 7-digit ID numbers concerned to speed things up). This can be done via CLICK HERE
Junior players already properly registered with other clubs
If a player already has a proper registration with another club then all they need to do is go to your club’s Play Cricket site, click on the “head and shoulders” icon, and select “Join this site”. You can then merge their records as above, if they already had a TMP record with your club.
