ATTIS ECB Yorkshire Premier League North
CONVERTING A 'TMP' PLAYER TO A REGISTERED PLAYER
The league is strongly encouraging clubs to convert any “Temporary” members to full members. This allows the member to properly maintain their own details (e.g. address etc) and avoids the perpetual problem of players with multiple profiles that they have accumulated over the years when moving clubs. (For reference, no new registrations, or transfers, will be accepted for temporary profiles.)

Temporary members are those with “TMP” next to their name in a list of your club members on Play Cricket.

There are two methods to do this. Both involve some action by the member themselves. Both methods assume that the player only has a TMP membership with your clubcurrently. You can choose the one that works best for you, as a club administrator, and your players.

Method 1
1. The player creates a Play Cricket account for themselves (send them this link https://play-cricket.ecb.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/115004175645-The-Play-Cricket-Sign-up-Process), during which they will be able to select your club as the one they are a player for.
2. Once they have done this, you then merge this new player record with the TMP one:
a. Go to Admin>Day to Day>Members>Member Database
b. Search for the player’s surname
c. Click the “Match Duplicate” icon next to the player’s entry which is not the TMP one
d. On the next page, select “Propose Match” on the player’s TMP entry
e. Check the suggested merger details, and accept when happy (see bottom of
document for dealing with merger problems)

Method 2 (possibly easier, but can only be done for adult players)
You add (or remove, save and re-insert) the players email address into the TMP record that you already have; that sends an invite to them to turn that record into their own login.
a. Go to Admin>Day to Day>Members>Member Database
b. Search for a specific player, or use the “Advanced/User Type/Unregistered“ option to pull up a list of all TMP members
c. Click the “View” icon next to a player’s TMP entry
d. If there is no email address, add one and then press “Save” at the bottom of the page
e. If there is an email address, copy it (CTRL-C), delete it, press Save, then paste the email address back in (CTRL-V) and press Save again. The player will receive an email invite to register. Once they have followed the instructions on the invite and created their account, the user will then no longer be displayed as a TMP record and you will be
able to add roles to that user if necessary. Note: you may wish to warn your players that you are going to use this method, in case they think the automatic emails are spam. If you find that the player ends up with two accounts then follow the merger instructions shown in Method 1 Part 2 above.
Note to both methods
If a player already has both a TMP registration and a proper registration with your club (perhaps under different email addresses) then all you need to do is to merge their records as shown in Method 1 Part 2 above.
If a player has a proper registration with another club, then all they need to do is go to your club’s Play Cricket site, click on the “head and shoulders” icon, and select “Join this site”. You can then merge their records as above, if necessary and if this doesn’t happen automatically.
Problems merging player accounts
In some circumstances the system can refuse to merge two player accounts. This is usually because the names don’t quite match (e.g. “Matt Smith” on one account and “Matthew Smith” on the other) or the dates of birth don’t match. The fastest way to resolve merger issues is usually just to raise a support ticket with Play Cricket to ask them to merge the accounts for you (giving them the two 7-digit ID numbers concerned to speed things up). This can be done via https://play-cricket.ecb.co.uk/hc/en- us/requests/new?ticket_form_
