BRIAN STACEY - Dunnington Cricket Club 

 

It is with deep sadness we have learned of the passing suddenly at home of one of our Cricketing legends Brian Stacey. 

"Stace" as he was fondly known was a formidable opening bowler for Dunnington in the late 60s through to the 90s. His opening bowling partnership with Steve Whittaker was the envy of many clubs and still talked of in local cricketing circles now. 

 

Brian was a miserly line and length bowler who wore his heart on his sleeve who was well respected by the clubs he played against. 

 

Brian was part of the Dunnington team in the 70s that won the prestigious Myers Burnell and Senior Charity night cups 

In 1986 he won the Division 1 (top division) bowling award with 34 wickets at 11.35 and in 1994 the Division 4 bowling award with 40 wickets at 10.15 

 

Brian will be greatly missed by all at Dunnington cricket club
