Few achievements in club cricket are as remarkable as devoting half a century to the same club. This season, Colin Frank reached that extraordinary milestone, completing his 50th season as a senior player for Pickering Cricket Club—a testament to his exceptional talent, loyalty and enduring passion for the game. 

 

Since Pickering joined the Yorkshire Premier League North in 1998, Colin has remained one of the league's most accomplished and consistent batsmen. Season after season, he has been among the club's leading run-scorers, setting the standard through his skill, determination and remarkable longevity. 

 

His statistics tell only part of the story. During the Play-Cricket era alone, Colin has amassed more than 6,000 league runs, with many thousands more scored before electronic records began. Across five decades, he has established himself as one of the finest and most prolific batsmen to represent both Pickering Cricket Club and the Yorkshire Premier League North. 

 

Colin's achievements have also been recognised well beyond league cricket. He has proudly represented Yorkshire Over-50s and Yorkshire Over-60s, and in 2016 earned the distinction of representing England Over-50s on their tour of Sri Lanka—a fitting reward for a career defined by excellence and consistency. 

 

Yet perhaps Colin's greatest legacy is his unwavering commitment to his club. For fifty years he has been a constant presence at Pickering Cricket Club, inspiring generations of teammates through his performances, professionalism and love of the game. His longevity is matched only by the respect in which he is held by teammates, opponents and everyone fortunate enough to have shared the field with him. 

 

The Yorkshire Premier League North Lifetime Achievement Award honours those whose careers have left a lasting mark on the league through exceptional performance, dedication and service.
