ATTIS ECB Yorkshire Premier League North
General Manager's Report
The 2025 season has been one of progress, consolidation, and excellent competition across the Yorkshire Premier League North structure. With significant changes to the league membership this year, there was much anticipation about how the season would unfold both on and off the field. I am pleased to report that the year has been highly successful in all areas.

League Champions
Firstly, warm congratulations must go to Castleford, who were crowned Premier League champions. The title race remained alive until the very last day, a testament to the quality, determination, and consistency shown throughout the campaign. Their achievement is well deserved, and we wish them continued success as they prepare for 2026.

Winners Across the Competitions
Congratulations are also extended to all winners across the various divisions and cup competitions within the YPLN system. Each competition showcased impressive standards of performance, commitment, and club organisation. It is encouraging to see such depth of ability and competitive spirit running throughout the league structure.

Womens Cricket
Women’s cricket in the Yorkshire Premier League North (YPLN) has seen rapid growth and success in recent years. Structural reforms driven by the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation due in 2026 — introducing three Regional Women’s Premier Leagues — aim to enhance competition, accessibility, and sustainability. Despite challenges such as facility access, coaching shortages, and the delay in gaining full Tier 1 professional status, women’s cricket in the YPLN continues to thrive, marking Yorkshire as a leader in developing and promoting the women’s game.

League Expansion and Integration
This season saw a significant influx of clubs following the arrival of teams from the Scarborough Beckett League and the York Vale League, alongside other new applicants. The merging and integration process has been a major undertaking, but we are pleased to note that it has been handled smoothly and positively. Clubs have embraced the opportunities presented, and we have seen new rivalries, refreshed competition, and stronger cricketing networks develop as a result. The league committee would like to thank all clubs for their cooperation, patience, and proactive approach throughout the transition period.

Disciplinary and Conduct
One particularly encouraging outcome this year has been a slight reduction in disciplinary cases. This is especially notable at a time when many other leagues are reporting increases in behavioural incidents. This improvement reflects the hard work undertaken by clubs, captains, umpires, and volunteers to promote respect, sportsmanship, and the positive spirit of the game. While there will always be areas to monitor and improve, the direction of travel is very much a positive one.
