CANCELLED OR ABANDONED CUP MATCHES
Please send any queries to assistant@yplncricket.co.uk
The rules below apply to cancellations or abandonments of cup matches due to ground, weather or light (plus any other incidents the Cup Manager determines should be included). They do not apply to Group Days or Finals Days.
Cup matches cancelled or abandoned before the away team travels to the ground
If a cup match is cancelled once due to ground conditions (etc) before the away team travels to the ground then the fixture will be rearranged at the same ground, unless the cancellation is partly due to the fact that the pitch was not covered, in which case the fixture will be reversed (i.e. the Home and Away teams will switch).
If a cup match is cancelled twice due to ground conditions (etc) before the away team travels to the ground then the third attempt to arrange the match will be reversed. This is to stop away teams repeatedly having to find a squad willing to travel to the same ground.
Cup matches cancelled or abandoned after the away team travels to the ground
If an away team travels to a cup match, and it is then cancelled or abandoned without a result being achieved, then the rearranged fixture will be reversed. This is so that one team does not have to travel twice to the same ground for the same match.
